About Us.
Actually Hangout is an app that helps you see your friends in person, not just when you doom-scroll past them on Instagram or as a little bubble in the group chat.
What we're building.
Social media promised to keep us close. Instead we got feeds full of people we never see and group chats that never leave the phone. Somewhere along the way, staying in touch replaced actually being together.
So we're building the opposite of a social network: an app whose job is to get you off it. Actually Hangout only works when you close the app and walk out the door. That's the whole point, and it's how we measure success: hangouts that happened, not hours spent scrolling.
Mission.
To create tools that help humans actually connect with people they actually care about and they actually know.
Real plans, real places, real faces.
Core Values.
Actually Good.
Do real, measurable good for people and the world. What's best for our users always comes first.
Actually Useful.
Build tools people actually use. Software should measurably improve your life, not compete for your attention.
Actually Kind.
Be kind to our users, to each other, and to ourselves. It shows up in everything we ship.
Actually Connect.
Bring people together in real life. Facilitate meaningful connection and fight loneliness where it starts.
