Community Standards
Actually Hangout is about real connection. We value authenticity, spontaneity, and kindness, and we are proud to offer a platform that empowers users like you to plan meaningful hangouts with friends and discover new ways to connect. We want Actually Hangout to be a place where people can have fun and express themselves while feeling safe.
Our Community Standards are designed to help ensure that you, and all our users, use our services safely, and they must be taken seriously. They are part of our Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy (together the "User Agreement"). If you don't agree with any part of the User Agreement, including the Community Standards, then it might be that Actually Hangout isn't for you.
The Community Standards are really just a collection of things that could be thought of as being respectful to other people. Basically, if you're doing something that you would not want other people to do to you on Actually Hangout, then you're probably violating the Community Standards. But just in case you're not sure, here's what you shouldn't do on Actually Hangout.
Bullying, Abuse, and Harassment
You may not share content that seeks to or does bully, abuse or harass people, whether they are other users or non-users. Repeated unwanted contact, mocking, shaming, doxxing, and coordinated pile-ons are also prohibited. If someone blocks you, don't try to reach them from another account.
Child Sexual Exploitation
Child exploitation is strictly forbidden, and Actually Hangout has zero tolerance towards any content that contains or promotes child sexual exploitation. We report identified instances to authorities.
Hateful Content
You may not share content that is hateful towards people or organizations, including content that abuses, demeans, or incites hatred on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, disability, or similar protected characteristics.
Illegal Activity
You may not share content that promotes or causes illegal activity, and you may not use Actually Hangout to facilitate illegal activity.
Intellectual Property
You may not share content that violates others' intellectual property.
Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery
Non-consensual nudity and non-consensual intimate imagery are strictly forbidden, and Actually Hangout has zero tolerance towards any content that contains or promotes them. This also includes AI-generated or manipulated sexualized imagery of real people without their consent (sometimes called deepfakes).
Non-Public Personal Information
You may not share content that includes other people's nonpublic personal information without their consent (including addresses, phone numbers, private conversations, or screenshots of them).
Suicide and Self-Harm
You may not share content that promotes, encourages, or glorifies suicide or self-harm.
Violent Content
You may not share content that is threatening, inciting, glorifying, or expressing a desire for violence or harm.
Spam and Inauthentic Behavior
You may not spam other users or the platform. That includes creating fake accounts, mass friend requests or invites, repeatedly posting the same content, and using automation to inflate engagement. Be real and use Actually Hangout the way it's meant to be used.
Impersonation
You may not pretend to be someone you're not – including other people, public figures, brands, or Actually Hangout itself – in a way that could mislead others. Parody and fan accounts are okay if they're clearly labeled and don't deceive.
Location-Based Abuse and Stalking
Pin Drop and our other location features exist to help you hang out with people who want to see you. Don't use them to stalk, intimidate, or surprise people who haven't invited you. Don't share anyone else's location without their consent, and don't show up at someone's location uninvited in a way that reasonably alarms them. When in doubt, ask first.
AI Misuse
Don't misuse our AI features. That includes attempting to circumvent safety features (such as prompt injection or jailbreaks), using AI features to harass real people, generating disallowed content through them, or passing off AI-generated text as coming from a real named person without their consent.
Platform Manipulation
Don't scrape our Services, use automated tools to access them, attempt to reverse engineer our software, or otherwise interfere with the integrity of the platform. See our Terms of Service for more on what's not allowed technically.
How to Make a Report
You can report any violation of these Community Standards directly through the reporting tools in the Actually Hangout app – including reports on users, hangouts, pindrops, moods, feelers, and items in Explore – or by contacting us at support@actuallyhangout.com. The Actually Hangout Support Team will review the report and reply if needed. We may use your contact information, including your username, full name, and email address, to get in contact with you.
If you are not reporting content through the reporting tools in the Actually Hangout application, you should screenshot the content or account that you believe violates the Community Standards.
What Happens After You Make a Report?
Any behavior, activity, or content that we believe is contrary to the Community Standards may be sanctioned, either temporarily or permanently. Depending on what we find, we may take any of the following actions, roughly in order of severity:
- A warning or in-app notice.
- Removing the specific content that violated the Standards.
- Limiting access to certain features (for example, temporarily disabling posting or Pin Drop).
- Temporarily suspending the account.
- Permanently banning the account from Actually Hangout.
For severe violations – such as content involving child sexual exploitation, credible threats of violence, or coordinated harm – we may skip straight to removal and permanent ban, and may refer the matter to law enforcement.
We have the right to monitor the content and the use of the App, at any time, and at our discretion, in order to verify compliance with the Community Standards and the Terms of Service. Our decision as to whether there is a violation of the Community Standards is final. Luckily, all of this should remain exceptional if you comply with the Community Standards.
Nevertheless, if you consider that a decision taken against you is unfair, you have the opportunity to contest it by writing to us at support@actuallyhangout.com.
That's it for now. Enjoy actually hanging out!
