Close Friends, Friend Tags, and Reach-outs
Organize your people and send a quick "thinking of you."
Close Friends
Star a friend to add them to your Close Friends. You'll get notified when they post, and they get their own tab in the People hub. It's for the friends you never want to miss.
Friend Tags
Friend Tags are private labels for organizing your friends: "college crew," "climbing people," whatever fits. Only you can see your tags, and you can create up to 20.
Tags do double duty as post audiences. When you post a Feeler, Mood, or PinDrop, you can share it with just one or more tags instead of all friends. There's no separate "close friends only" audience; a Friend Tag is how you post to your inner circle.
Managing a tag
You can also ask Assist to create, rename, or update tags for you. See Manage with Assist for how confirmation works.
- On People → Friends, tap a tag chip, then Manage to open the tag screen.
- Add or remove members (with search), rename the tag, or delete it from the action sheet.
- Deleting a tag removes the label from your friends; it doesn't unfriend anyone.
Reach-outs
Sometimes you don't have a plan, you just miss someone. Send a Reach-out ("Thinking of you" or "Let's hang soon") with an optional note. They'll get a notification, and maybe that's what starts the next hangout.
You can toggle Reach-out notifications in Settings → Notifications.
