Getting Started & Your Account

Delete your Actually Hangout account or data

How to delete your Actually Hangout account or request data deletion — in the app or by emailing support@actuallyhangout.com — plus what gets deleted, what’s kept, and for how long.

Delete your account in the app

  • Open Actually Hangout and go to Settings → Account Management.
  • Choose Delete Account and confirm.
  • Deletion is immediate and permanent. It erases your profile, posts, friendships, and hangouts, and it can’t be undone.

Request account deletion by email

Can’t get into the app, or already uninstalled it? Email support@actuallyhangout.com with the subject “Delete my account”. Include the username and phone number you signed up with so we can verify the account is yours.

We’ll confirm your request and complete the deletion within 30 days.

Request data deletion without deleting your account

You can also ask us to delete specific data while keeping your account — for example your location history or the contacts you’ve shared. Email support@actuallyhangout.com with the subject “Delete my data” and tell us what you’d like removed. We verify and complete these requests within 30 days too.

What’s deleted and what’s kept

  • Deleted: your profile, posts (Feelers, Moods, PinDrops, and Open Invites), hangouts, friendships, location history, and any contacts you’ve shared with us.
  • Photos and other media you uploaded are removed from cloud storage by a background job shortly after deletion.
  • Kept: aggregated or deidentified data that can’t identify you, retained for analytics, safety, audit, or legal purposes.
  • Kept: reports submitted about users or content, in deidentified form, so we can enforce our Community Standards.

Deactivate instead (temporary)

If you think you might come back, deactivate instead of deleting. Deactivating temporarily disables your account: friends can’t find your profile (it appears unavailable) and you drop out of their friends lists. Your data isn’t deleted.

To come back, log back in with your phone number. If you have any trouble reactivating, email support@actuallyhangout.com.

Log out

Logging out from Settings just signs you out of the app on this device. Nothing about your account changes. Log back in whenever you like.
