Notifications & app settings
Choose exactly which notifications you get, plus your theme and language.
Your notification inbox
The bell icon at the top of your Home feed opens your notification inbox. Notifications mark themselves as read and tapping one takes you straight to the post, hangout, or profile it's about.
Choosing what you're notified about
In Settings → Notifications there's a master push toggle plus individual switches for each category:
- Reactions to your posts
- New friends
- Hangout invites
- Hangout updates
- Reminders
- Hangout reminders
- Friend availability overlap
- Reply reminders
- Reach-outs
Good to know
There's no way to mute a specific person or thread. The toggles work per category. If one person is the problem, blocking them is the right tool.
In Settings you can also switch the app's appearance between System, Light, and Dark, and choose your language: English, Spanish, French, or Portuguese (Brazil). The Support section links to feedback, this Help Center, Community Standards, Terms, and the Privacy Policy.
