Block, report, or unfriend
Your options when someone's behavior isn't okay, from lightest to strongest.
Unfriend
Removing a friend from their profile ends the friendship. They won't be notified.
Block
Blocking is the strong option. It removes the friendship in both directions, cancels any pending friend requests between you, and clears Close Friend and tag connections. A blocked person can't see your profile or interact with you, and you can't see theirs.
Blocking stops new contact going forward. If you come across older content that bothers you, you can report it.
Manage your blocked list in Settings → Blocked Users. Unblocking lets someone see your profile and interact again, but it doesn't restore the friendship.
Report
You can report users, posts, and hangouts. Pick a category (Harassment, Impersonation, Inappropriate Content, Safety Concern, Spam, or Other, with a description) and our team takes it from there.
One more thing: there's no mute feature. If someone's content or notifications are the problem, blocking is the tool. Our Community Standards are linked in Settings → Support.
