Hangouts

Create a Hangout

Hangouts are real plans: a title, a time, a place, and the people you invite.

Unlike feed posts, Hangouts are planned events with their own tab, organized into Upcoming, Planning, Past, and Invites.

Two ways to create one

By default, the planner does the work for you: describe your hangout idea and Actually Hangout plans it for you. Prefer to do it yourself? Fill out the form manually instead.

The details

  • Title (the only required field), plus an optional description, location, and photo.
  • Date and time. It defaults to the next 5pm, because that's when plans happen.
  • Visibility: Invite only (just the people you invite) or Public link (anyone with the link can see it, even without the app).
  • Invitees: add them as guests or as collaborators who help plan.
  • Collaboration Mode: turn it on to let the group decide the details together with suggestions and voting.

Optional sections

Round out the plan with a "What to bring" checklist, cost info, a "Getting there" section with ride offers, notes, and links. Add them while creating or by editing later.
