Hangouts
Public availability booking
Share a link so anyone can request time on your free windows, even if they don't have the app yet.
Public availability booking lets people outside the app request a hangout on times you've marked free. You stay in control: the page only works when you turn it on, and guests can only book slots you mark as publicly bookable.
Turn on your public page
If the page is on but you have no publicly bookable slots yet, guests won't have anything to pick. Resetting the link stops the old URL immediately; anyone with the previous link will need the new one.
- Open Calendar and tap the link icon in the header to open Public availability.
- Turn on Public booking page.
- Copy or share your link (actuallyhangout.com/a/…).
- When you add or edit an availability slot, turn on Publicly bookable for the windows guests can request.
What guests do
Anyone with your link opens the page in a browser, picks a publicly bookable window, can narrow the time within that slot, adds their name and phone number, and optionally a note. They don't need an account to request time.
After someone requests
You'll see pending guest bookings on the hangout. Guests appear as Guest / "Hasn't joined yet" until they sign up with the same phone number and claim their spot. That's how a web request becomes a real hangout on both sides.
